He subsequently spent time at the Hastings Center in Garrison, New York where he worked for two years studying biomedical ethics prior to completing medical school at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University. He went to Bowdoin College where he played lacrosse and graduated Magna Cum Laude with majors in both Chemistry and Philosophy.
